— Introduction
Hosted by HUB Cycling, "Bike the Night" is a 10-km cycling event from Sunset Beach and through the streets of downtown Vancouver one evening in mid-September. For this project, my team and I created a new layout to celebrate 20 years of HUB Cycling.
HUB’s mission is to get more people on bikes and get more people thinking about using their bike for transportation. Through this project, our mission was to increase both engagement online for Bike the Night and participation on the night of the event.

— Context
Unique mass rides are important because they build community and encourage people to get on their bikes (potentially for the first time in a while) in a fun, safe and comfortable setting.
In its inaugural year, 500 people came out, with the support of City of Vancouver and MEC coming on as the presenting sponsor, we increased participation by 500% and 2017 brought out 3500 people including 350 kids.
This increase in participation clearly shows the desire for mass participation rides and we hope through Bike the Night this number will continue to grow.
2018 will be the third annual event and we expect over 5,000 people of all ages to sign up for the ride and celebration
